Exposed: How Daily Nigeria Reporter Infiltrated Cotonou University Racket, Bagged Degree In Just 6 Weeks, And Successfully Completed NYSC Scheme With ‘Legitimate’ Certificate!....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an audacious investigative endeavor, Daily Nigeria reporter Umar Audu delved into the thriving business of counterfeit degrees, revealing a shocking tale of securing a Cotonou varsity degree in just six weeks and successfully participating in the NYSC scheme.

The investigation commenced in December 2022 when Audu reached out to a clandestine syndicate specializing in peddling infamous degree certificates from neighboring countries to eager buyers at an allegedly ‘affordable rate.’

The agent presented the reporter with the option of either pursuing a year-long or a month-long study program. Opting for the latter, Audu recalls the agent’s assurance: “That’s not a problem; we can help. If the money is ready, we can help you out. We have done it for a lot of people. If you make the payment now, the results will be ready next month.”

Choosing mass communication from any Cotonou “university” due to his familiarity with the course, the agent provided a breakdown of the expenses, covering tuition fees, an evaluation letter, a resident permit, immigration stamps at the border, and transportation.

On December 27, 2022, Audu made the payment and received a payment receipt. True to the agent’s promise, the certificate and transcript from Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies (ESGT), Cotonou, Benin Republic, arrived at his office on February 17, 2023.

The transcript indicated that Audu commenced the institution in 2018 and graduated on September 5, 2022. However, a slight error on the transcript necessitated a return to Cotonou for correction. One month later, on March 29, the corrected version was received.

Remarkably, Audu never received an admission letter or information about the school from the agent. Assurances were given: “Don’t worry, everything will be sorted out.” Astonishingly, the reporter completed the four-year degree program in less than two months without application, registration, studying, writing exams, or even crossing the Nigerian border.

Despite holding the certificate and transcript, doubts lingered until Audu discovered a scan code on the transcript’s bottom left. Scanning it revealed a link to the website of ESGT University, confirming his status as a genuine product of the institution.

Established in 2009, ESGT claims to be an institution built on a vision that enables individuals from diverse nationalities to receive the best in international education. Fully accredited by both the governments of Benin Republic and Nigeria, ESGT offers over 30 courses in various fields.

Alarming findings suggest that racketeering agents in Nigeria collaborate with the top management of the Cotonou university, where the registrar and English section coordinator are Nigerians.

After additional payments, the evaluation letter, a mandatory requirement for NYSC mobilization, was released. Letters from the Federal Ministry of Education, dated May 25 and 26, confirmed ESGT’s accreditation and cleared 51 graduates for NYSC participation, asserting the equivalence of their degrees to those awarded by Nigerian universities.

This shocking expose underscores the need for a robust examination of accreditation processes and the safeguarding of educational integrity.
