Eze Warns Ganduje-led NWC To Heed Court Ruling And Prevent Further APC Damage In Rivers

The conflict centers around the ouster of the Emeka Beke-led State Working Committee by Abdullahi Ganduje, who accused them of loyalty to former Transportation Minister Chibuike Amaechi. The Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, is aligned with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The Beke-led NWC challenged their removal in court, arguing that their term had not expired and that the dissolution was unconstitutional. The court ruled that the party had acted beyond its powers by dissolving a democratically elected committee without evidence of wrongdoing.

Fuanters, however, dismissed the court ruling, claiming it was not binding on the APC and asserting that the party continued to work with the caretaker committee.

In response, Eze condemned Fuanters’ comments, accusing the Ganduje-led National Working Committee of undermining democracy and the rule of law. Eze criticized Fuanters for presenting himself as having superior legal knowledge over the court, questioning his qualifications as a lawyer.

Eze warned Ganduje and his team against disregarding court decisions, noting that such actions could damage the party’s reputation and threaten democratic institutions. He claimed that some NWC members, including Victor Giadom, had compromised their integrity by aligning with Wike.

Eze emphasized that the court’s ruling confirmed Emeka Beke as the legitimate chairman and that any dealings with Tony Okocha were unlawful. He urged the party leadership to respect the court’s decision to prevent further crisis and allow Beke’s team to complete their term as mandated.
