In a statement released on Friday by the FRSC spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Marshal directed FRSC officers to work closely with other security agencies to ensure compliance with vehicular movement restrictions during the election. He also tasked personnel with clearing road obstructions, conducting rescue operations in emergencies, and maintaining order at polling stations.

To support these efforts, the FRSC has deployed operational vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances to strengthen enforcement and provide quick response capabilities throughout the election period.

Mohammed stressed the importance of professionalism, urging officers to respect voters’ rights and avoid actions that could interfere with the democratic process.

“As part of efforts to ensure a smooth Edo State gubernatorial election on September 21, 2024, the Corps Marshal has directed FRSC operatives to collaborate with other security agencies to enforce movement restrictions. Personnel are also mandated to clear road obstructions, conduct rescue operations during emergencies, and maintain order at polling stations. Adequate mobilization of vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances has been arranged to support enforcement,” the statement read.
