On Wednesday, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate, emphasized the importance of the initiative as the registration deadline approaches.
The fellowship programme, which opened for enrollment on Monday, will close on January 27th.
Professor Pate highlighted that the one-year National Health Fellowship programme, targeted at citizens aged 25-35, aligns with the government’s commitment to driving meaningful change through innovation in the health sector.
The programme is being coordinated by the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative SWAp Coordination Office under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
“This prestigious programme will bring together a diverse group of emerging professionals from fields such as health, health-related disciplines, information technology, and social sciences,” he stated.
These fellows will develop into a new generation of skilled and motivated health leaders capable of fostering innovation and change within the health sector.
He encouraged Nigerians to take full advantage of this opportunity for the advancement of the nation’s healthcare system.
“Therefore, interested Nigerian professionals are invited to apply for the National Health Fellowship programme and join the pathway to leadership development for the Nigerian Health Sector,” he concluded.
