Financial Assistance Announced For Caregivers Of People With DisabilitiesThe Lagos State Government has announced financial aid for special homes and disability cluster groups, providing N500,000 each to nine homes and six groups through the Office for Disability Affairs. At the Alausa Secretariat, LASODA General Manager Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal explained that the initiative aims to empower caregivers and enhance their ability to meet the needs of those with disabilities. She emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities and ensuring that support groups are well-equipped to deliver essential services.

Oyetunde-Lawal noted, “While we can’t cover all financial needs, this is a meaningful gesture.” She also revealed plans to assist elderly individuals with disabilities over 60, as well as civil servants and entrepreneurs with disabilities, offering financial literacy training and assistance with business registration.

The LASODA head added that the agency is working on additional programs to provide both physical and mental support for children and individuals with disabilities in the state.
