Several business owners reportedly suffered multimillion-naira losses following a tanker explosion near Lead City University Road, close to the Ibadan Toll Gate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The explosion, which occurred around 2:45 PM, left affected shop owners in shock and devastation. Among the worst hit was a store reportedly housing computer equipment worth millions of naira.

In addition to the destroyed shops, multiple vehicles and motorcycles parked along the roadside were engulfed in the flames.

As of press time, it was unclear whether there were any fatalities. However, a source disclosed that the tanker driver and his assistant managed to escape with minor injuries.

One of the affected shop owners, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted her experience:
“I heard a loud bang and initially thought it was a gunshot. Moments later, thick smoke filled the air. Though calls were made to the Fire Service, the fire had already consumed everything before they arrived. I’ve lost everything. I don’t even know where to begin.”

Oyo State Fire Service General Manager, Rev. Akinyinka, confirmed the incident, stating that firemen were swiftly deployed to the scene and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to more shops.
