Former Kebbi Deputy Governor Passes Away, State Mourns

Former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Ibrahim Aliyu, has died after a prolonged illness.

According to Channels Television, family sources confirmed that the former deputy governor passed away in Sokoto.

Aliyu served as the deputy governor of Kebbi State under former Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari between 2007 and 2015.

Reacting to the news, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris described Aliyu’s death as a significant loss to the Yauri Emirate, Kebbi State and the country.

In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, the governor paid tribute to the late statesman, praising his years of dedicated public service and commitment to the development of the state.

Governor Idris said Aliyu earned the respect of many through his integrity, humility and selfless leadership, both as a career civil servant and during his tenure as deputy governor.

According to the governor, the late Aliyu leaves behind a legacy of exemplary service that will continue to inspire future generations.

“His invaluable contributions to the development of our state and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people will continue to inspire generations,” the statement read.

Governor Idris prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. He also extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Yauri Emirate and the people of Kebbi State, praying for the strength to bear the loss.
