Former Minister Jerry Gana Denies Demonic Presence In Aso Rock Under ObasanjoFormer Minister of Information Jerry Gana has dismissed claims that members of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s cabinet encountered evil spirits while at the State House. He made this statement during a press conference in Abuja to announce the upcoming International Conference of the African Biblical Leadership Initiative (ABLI), scheduled to start on October 21.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The ABLI, themed “Value-based Leadership Model for Africa,” seeks to nurture a new generation of transformational leaders, particularly in Nigeria. Gana’s remarks were a response to allegations made by Reuben Abati, the former spokesperson for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, who suggested in a 2016 article titled “The Spiritual Side of Aso Rock” that a supernatural presence haunted the State House.
Abati argued that the State House should be converted into a museum due to its purported supernatural forces, mentioning that a cleric had warned him of evil spirits in the area. He also shared personal experiences of distress and sleeplessness while living in the Presidential Villa.
When questioned about his own experiences during his time as minister, Gana appeared perplexed and shook his head. He clarified that while his administration did not encounter such phenomena, it does not mean they are absent.
Gana stated, “We don’t live in a free environment where you can do whatever you like. You are either for light or darkness. Spiritual forces are real, and the Bible says we are the light of the world. I can’t speak to the tensions you mentioned. During our time, we didn’t see any demons—perhaps they were too afraid of us. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.”
He added that during Obasanjo’s presidency, cabinet members gathered daily for prayers at 6 a.m., seeking divine wisdom and guidance to lead the country effectively.
