Former Labour Party chairman Julius Abure has accused the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Abia State Governor Alex Otti of being responsible for the ongoing instability within the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Abure alleged that the internal crisis in the party began after Obi and Otti supported the formation of a caretaker committee in Umuahia.

He claimed that this move disrupted the party’s previously stable structure and remains the root of its prolonged leadership crisis.

Abure insisted that the issue cannot be ignored because, in his view, the two politicians continue to feature prominently in discussions about the party’s dispute.

He also rejected claims that he is an outsider in the party, instead describing Senator Nenadi Usman as the interloper in the leadership tussle.

According to him, court rulings and legal challenges have continued to shape the leadership struggle, referencing earlier judgments that upheld different positions on the party’s 2024 convention and leadership structure.

Abure said his faction has already appealed recent rulings and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will ultimately settle the matter.

He maintained that the Labour Party leadership dispute remains unresolved and legally active.
