From Boardroom To Big Screen: Mawuli Gavor Reveals How Acting Changed His Life Overnight
Ghanaian actor Mawuli Gavor has opened up on why he ditched his well-paying corporate career at global accounting giant KPMG to dive fully into the entertainment industry.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on the Blackvolta Podcast, Gavor revealed that at the start of his career, he struggled to juggle his demanding 9-5 job with early morning modelling gigs and photoshoots. At the time, he was earning about 770 cedis per month, yet constantly battling to keep up with the pressures of both worlds.
The turning point came when a brand he worked with offered him a deal worth the same as his entire annual salary—paid out in a single day. That moment, he admitted, completely changed his perspective on work, money, and freedom.
Realizing the potential of the creative industry, Gavor decided to walk away from his corporate desk and commit fully to acting and entertainment projects.
Reflecting on the decision, he said:
“If somebody gave you your one-year salary in one day—not one month, one day—it’s one of the reasons I find it hard to ever go back to the regular 9-5. The creative economy doesn’t always mean making more money, but it gives you something more valuable: time and freedom.”
