Tinubu’s departure from Hewanorra International Airport was officiated by Saint Lucian Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, following the conclusion of a six-day state visit that commenced on June 28.
A key achievement of his stay in Saint Lucia was the formalisation of bilateral ties, sealed by a Technical Manpower Assistance Agreement. Under this pact, skilled Nigerian professionals will be seconded to Saint Lucia to aid its development objectives.
During his visit, the President also held bilateral talks with Governor-General Cyril Errol Charles and Prime Minister Pierre, focusing on trade, investment, cultural exchange, and collaborative ventures.
In a highlight of the visit, Tinubu delivered an address to a joint sitting of the Saint Lucian Senate and House of Assembly at Sandals Grande, underscoring Nigeria’s eagerness to deepen engagement with Caribbean partners.
Having completed his engagements in the Caribbean, Tinubu now proceeds to Brazil to participate in the BRICS Summit, where he is slated to meet with his African counterparts from Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
