Fubara provided this assurance during a recent inspection visit to the Songhai Farm, where he was guided through various sections of the facility by the farm’s manager, Dr. Sammy Jaja.

The governor explained that this visit was prompted by discussions held at the last National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, where the imperative of diversifying the economy was stressed to mitigate the ongoing economic challenges faced by the population.

He stated, “Given the current state of our economy, including the removal of fuel subsidies and other economic hardships affecting everyone, at our last National Economic Council meeting, we were all advised to explore diversification. Agriculture is one of the viable options, and we were encouraged to enhance our efforts to improve food self-sufficiency.”

Fubara emphasized that revitalizing the Songhai Farms would contribute to diversifying the state’s economy, creating meaningful employment opportunities for its residents, and enhancing food self-sufficiency within the state.
