It is important to note that the Ijaw people have both supporters and critics of the Governor among them. Some Ijaw sons and daughters stand with the Governor, while others in the State House of Assembly oppose him. Therefore, when discussing those who disagree with the Governor, one must be cautious to avoid making divisive statements. This external interference is a major cause of instability. As the Minister of the FCT rightly pointed out, the Ijaw people of Rivers State have always coexisted peacefully with other ethnic groups. The real agitators are the Ijaws from outside Rivers State, who are instigating discord by misleading our Ijaw brothers here into believing they are superior in numbers.”
