The President also approved the appointment of members of the institution’s Governing Council for an initial four-year tenure.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday night by Chris Ugwuegbulam from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and issued through the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana.
The appointments, which take effect from April 18, 2026, were said to be in line with Section 7(1) and (3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act, 2023.
President Tinubu also approved the composition of the Governing Council of the Centre, with Joan Jummai Idonijeappointed as Chairperson.
Other members of the council include Lois Auta, Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiyee, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, and Anne Agom-Eze.
While congratulating the newly appointed Director-General and members of the Governing Council, President Tinubu wished them success in their respective responsibilities.
