Gabam criticized politicians for their negative views of the military, pointing out that the current constitution, which is often criticized for its military origins, was drafted by skilled civilians brought in by the military, not by the military itself.

Speaking at the SDP’s International Youth Day Celebration 2024, Gabam stated, “The idea that the military era was a time of darkness is unfounded. Much of the infrastructure we use today was developed during that period, despite the criticisms against the military for their uniforms.”

He emphasized that, despite the restoration of democracy, the country is currently facing significant challenges, including hunger. Gabam questioned why the military is criticized when they made substantial sacrifices and played a role in the development of the nation. He urged a reassessment of how the military is perceived, acknowledging their contributions and sacrifices.
