Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has thrown his weight behind both Comfort Emmanson, the passenger at the center of a recent clash with Ibom Air, and the state-owned airline itself.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking at a grand reception in his honour at Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Saturday, Governor Eno described both Emmanson and Ibom Air as “valuable assets” of Akwa Ibom that deserve equal support.
“The lady is our daughter, and Ibom Air is our pride. Every Akwa Ibom person should be proud of the airline that flies our colours. Our money is invested in Ibom Air, so we must protect and support it,” the governor said.
Emmanson, an indigene of the state, had earlier been remanded following a heated confrontation with Ibom Air crew members, before being pardoned by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. She later revealed to journalists that the incident left her traumatised and humiliated.
“I have been unable to move freely or interact with people because my dignity was violated, and my body was unduly exposed,” she lamented.
Governor Eno, however, urged Akwa Ibom residents to avoid taking sides, describing the altercation as a mere “small mistake.”
“If there was any crisis, don’t join outsiders who want to spoil good things. Whatever happened, we will resolve it. Both the airline and the passenger belong to us. When two people quarrel, there must always be a third party to make peace,” he added.
