Governor Mohammed had previously expressed disappointment with President Tinubu’s nationwide address following the #EndBadGovernance protests, noting that state governors were not consulted before the broadcast. He argued that the president’s speech did not align with the realities on the ground and highlighted a significant disconnect between the government and the people.

Speaking at the kickoff of the PDP’s local government election campaign at Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu Suleiman Square in Government House, Mohammed urged President Tinubu to revise his policies, emphasizing that the current approach is ineffective and damaging to all, regardless of political affiliation.

“As the PDP Chairman and Governor, I urge President Tinubu to reconsider his policies. If he continues down this path, by 2027, I might invite him to be our campaign director. The PDP is poised to win as his policies inflict self-harm on his administration,” Mohammed stated.

He continued, “The opposition recognizes that it’s time for governance. We have been patient to avoid exacerbating political tensions. However, the federal government’s actions are provoking unrest, and we insist that this must cease.”

Mohammed noted that the PDP and its governors have been attentive to the youth’s and protesters’ concerns, in contrast to the federal government’s excuses. He assured that the PDP remains committed to good governance and the public’s trust.
