Ahead of the local government elections scheduled for October 5 in Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared Friday, October 4, as a work-free day. Governor Alia stated that the work-free day aims to facilitate the electorate’s travel to their respective local government areas to cast their votes. He highlighted the significance of active participation in the electoral process and urged all citizens to take advantage of the day to fulfill their civic responsibilities.

The governor expressed confidence that, with the right commitment and participation, the elections would be conducted smoothly and fairly. He also called on both public and private sector organizations to support this initiative by allowing their employees to participate fully in the electoral process.
