Former Senate Majority Leader Jonathan Zwingina has reportedly passed away. He also served as the Director-General of the MKO Abiola Campaign Organization during the June 12, 1993 presidential election. It is believed that he succumbed to a prolonged illness. Zwingina represented the Adamawa South Senatorial District in the Senate and was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party before later defecting to the All Progressives Congress.
