In a recent meeting with officials from the State Ministry of Works and relevant contractors, Umahi expressed deep frustration over the slow pace of progress on several key infrastructure projects. The governor emphasized that delays in completing these projects were unacceptable and could adversely affect the state’s development goals.
Governor Umahi, who has been vocal about the need for rapid development in Ebonyi State, highlighted the importance of timely project execution in enhancing the state’s infrastructure. He noted that many ongoing projects, including roads, bridges, and public facilities, are critical to improving the quality of life for residents and driving economic growth.
During the meeting, Umahi reviewed the progress of various projects and found that several had not met the stipulated timelines. He reiterated that any contractor found culpable of negligence, poor workmanship, or failure to meet deadlines would have their contracts terminated and blacklisted from future government projects.
“The state government cannot afford to have unfinished projects or subpar work,” Umahi stated. “We need results, and we need them now. We are committed to the progress and development of Ebonyi State, and contractors must align with this vision.”
The governor also instructed the Ministry of Works to conduct regular assessments and audits of ongoing projects to ensure accountability and transparency. He stressed that contractors should be held responsible for any delays or substandard work, as such issues undermine the overall quality of infrastructure in the state.
Umahi’s warning comes in the wake of growing dissatisfaction among residents who have been calling for faster development, especially in rural areas where infrastructure remains underdeveloped. The governor has assured the people that his administration remains dedicated to ensuring that the state’s resources are utilized effectively for their benefit.
In conclusion, Governor Umahi’s message is clear: contractors must prioritize efficiency and quality in their work, or they will face severe consequences.
