Cajetan Nwokike, the former President-General of Amansea Development Union in Anambra State, has tragically passed away. Reports from Naija News indicate that he was killed by unknown gunmen on Thursday morning at his residence.

This sorrowful event comes within a short span after the assassination of Silas Onyima, the President-General of Umuoji, who was fatally shot in his bedroom.

Omife I, the National President of the Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State, confirmed Nwokike’s demise in a statement to the press on Friday. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, Omife implored Governor Charles Soludo to ensure that those responsible for these heinous acts face justice.

In the statement, Omife remarked, “The Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State (APPAS) received with great sadness the news of the tragic death of one of its members, Chief Cajetan Nwokike, former PG Amansea, allegedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen yesterday morning in his home at Amansea.”

“According to reports, Cajetan Nwokike was performing his customary morning ritual of breaking kola nuts when two assailants entered his residence and fatally shot him.”

“APPAS is deeply concerned about Chief Nwokike’s untimely demise, which adds to a series of tragic incidents. We appeal to Governor Soludo and law enforcement agencies to exhaust all efforts in uncovering the perpetrators of these senseless killings.”

“We believe in Governor Soludo’s capability to address this issue, given his commendable track record in security management.”

“We mourn the loss of Chief Cajetan Nwokike, a vibrant member of our Association, whose absence leaves a significant void. Our thoughts are with his family, and we assure them that justice will prevail. May his soul find eternal peace.”
