Speaking to Daily Post, Salisu expressed disappointment over El-Rufai’s recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing him of creating deep divisions during his tenure as governor.

Salisu questioned the credibility of El-Rufai and other former officeholders who now attack the current government despite their own alleged poor performance while in power.

Reflecting on El-Rufai’s time in office, the APC chieftain urged Nigerians to remain alert and choose leaders who are truly committed to the country’s progress, rather than self-serving politicians who leave trails of conflict and disunity.

He said:
“Have Nigerians so quickly forgotten what the former governor did over the eight years he ruled? Take a look at the southern part of Kaduna, largely Christian-dominated—El-Rufai completely neglected it in terms of infrastructure, road development, and basic amenities, treating it as though it wasn’t part of the state capital.”

He added, “During his administration, kidnappings became rampant across the state—from Kaduna to Birnin Gwari, Kafanchan, and even Abuja. Many lives were lost, especially in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area and Atyap Chiefdom, yet the governor failed to implement meaningful solutions.”

“Now, the same man parades himself as a righteous critic of the current administration, and some Nigerians are falling for it. Is this the kind of leadership we want to bring back? What real solutions does El-Rufai have to offer this country?”
