The tragic incident occurred at his residence in the Mango, Oke-Ata area of Abeokuta around 6:00 am on September 30, 2024.
Confirming the incident on October 1, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, said Oshoko is believed to have ingested insecticide in response to the difficulties he was allegedly facing.
The deceased’s sister, Funmilayo, alerted the Lafenwa Police Division after discovering her brother’s lifeless body in his room, with an insecticide bottle nearby.
“A friend of the deceased visited his home and asked to see him. Upon entering the room, he found the victim unresponsive on the floor, having consumed a mixture of insecticide and herbal concoction,” Odutola said.
A note written in Yoruba was found, in which Oshoko expressed his frustration with life and explained his decision to end it.
