The heartbreaking news was shared by film producer Stanley Ontop, who posted a video on Instagram showing the ailing actor lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to an oxygen tank and IV fluids.
Stanley revealed that Njemanze urgently requires surgery and appealed to Nigerians and fans for financial support, stressing that no contribution is too small to help save the beloved actor’s life.
“Hello guys, one of our Nollywood legends is seriously ill and needs immediate surgery,” Stanley wrote. “Sir Tom Njemanze has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Please, let’s come together and support him. Nothing is too small — help our legend live again.”
Tom Njemanze, who began his acting journey in the 1990s, has earned acclaim for his roles in notable films such as Tokunboh, Pounds and Dollars, Atosa, Issakaba, Osuofia in London, Brain Box, and Igbotic Love.
