The Member of the House of Representatives representing Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Esosa Iyawe, FNSE, has extended warm congratulations to Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, on the celebration of the sacred Igue Festival.
In a congratulatory message released on the occasion, Hon. Iyawe described the Igue Festival as a profound symbol of spiritual renewal, cultural preservation, and unity of the Benin people. He noted that the festival remains one of the most significant spiritual observances of the Benin Kingdom, embodying prayers for peace, good health, prosperity, and continuous progress for both the kingdom and the nation.
According to him, the Igue Festival reflects the enduring heritage, values, and traditions of the Benin Kingdom, carefully preserved and transmitted across generations under the divine authority of the sacred throne. He emphasized that the festival serves as a reminder of the kingdom’s deep-rooted identity and its unwavering commitment to cultural excellence.
Hon. Iyawe further commended Oba Ewuare II for his steadfast dedication to the preservation and promotion of Benin history and customs. He stated that the Oba’s leadership continues to inspire pride and reverence within Edo State and beyond, while positioning the Benin Kingdom as a beacon of dignity, unity, and cultural continuity.
