Other invitees include heads of the Nigeria Law School, the Chairman of the Board of Benchers, and the Vice Chancellor of NOUN.

This move follows a resolution made during a meeting between the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, and some dissatisfied final-year law students with Rep. Abubakar Fulata, the Chairman of the House Committee on University Education in Abuja.

NOUN allegedly terminated the program, citing the university senate’s compliance with the Council of Legal Education’s directive.

Rep. Fulata emphasized the need for collaboration among stakeholders, including the Minister of Education, to address challenges affecting education standards in Nigeria, such as strikes, insecurity, inadequate funding, and infrastructure.

He urged a commitment to eliminating these challenges through innovative methods and reinforcing existing ones, emphasizing the importance of proper infrastructure maintenance.

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, acknowledged the numerous challenges facing education in the country, including a learning crisis, a high number of out-of-school children, and the security risk associated with unemployable graduates lacking necessary skills.

Mamman highlighted the insufficient equipment in polytechnics meant to provide essential skills as a significant concern.
