Addressing participants at the event titled “A Day with Alhaji Lai Mohammed,” organized by the Mass Communication Department of Olabisi Onabanjo University in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ogun State, Mohammed underscored the urgency of combating misinformation.

He emphasized the personal toll of fake news, recounting an incident where his wife woke him in the night, expressing anxiety over the fabricated wealth attributed to him. Mohammed stressed the importance of collective efforts in tackling the menace of fake news, cautioning on its potential to irreparably harm individuals and society at large.

During his presentation on “Redefining the Role of Spokesman: My Enduring Engagement/Romance with the Practice of Public Relations,” Mohammed defended the administration led by President Bola Tinubu, dismissing claims that it was solely responsible for prevailing economic challenges in the country.
