A Nigerian man has appealed for urgent government intervention after severe flooding reportedly left his community in a dangerous condition, saying he is willing to sell his house, which he claims is worth more than ₦100 million, for just ₦5 million.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man said he purchased the land for ₦25 million and spent more than ₦120 million constructing the property. However, he explained that worsening flooding has made the area increasingly difficult and unsafe to live in.

He claimed that several residents in the neighbourhood had already abandoned their homes because of the flooding, while the situation had also created concerns over dangerous animals entering residential areas.

In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the man expressed frustration over the situation and said he could no longer continue living in the property despite the huge amount of money invested in it.

“I bought this land for ₦25 million and built the house with over ₦120 million, but I want to sell everything for just ₦5 million. I can’t live here anymore. All my neighbours have left because of the flooding, and it’s getting worse,” he said.

The man further alleged that two children in the community had been killed and eaten by a crocodile amid the flooding. He also claimed that a large python had entered his house, adding to the concerns of residents.

“I’m serious when I say I want to sell my house, which is worth over ₦100 million, for just ₦5 million. Just today, two children living here were killed and eaten by a crocodile because of the flooding,” he alleged.

He appealed to the state government to urgently intervene, provide assistance to affected residents and address the flooding crisis in the community.

The man’s account has drawn attention to the reported impact of the flooding on residents, homes and property in the area. However, his claims concerning the alleged deaths and animal attacks have not been independently verified.
