A Woman Shares Her First Encounter with Adaora Umeoji, Newly Appointed GMD/CEO of Zenith Bank

Chioma described entering Adaora’s office and being captivated by her warm smile.

She provided a detailed account of their conversation:

“I met her in person for the first time during my recruitment process at the bank.

I was chosen, along with a few others, to meet with her as the final part of our hiring process. It caught me off guard because some friends I made during the process had already completed their procedures and were awaiting offers. Why was I selected to meet with her? I grumbled a bit 😅

Dr. Adaora truly exudes grace and charm. I was enchanted the moment I stepped into her office.

With a charming smile, she inquired about my name and where I’m from, and I told her. When she asked

why I wanted to work for her organization, I stumbled over my words a bit and accidentally mentioned Access Bank instead of Zenith Bank 😹😹😹

Realizing my mistake, I quickly corrected myself, and she maintained her warm smile throughout.

After a few minutes, she said I could leave. I thanked her and exited her office.

The second time I encountered her was through my work experience when she specifically requested to see me through my branch manager. I wasn’t in the office at the time, and my manager called me, visibly concerned about the outcome. Given the size of the staff in the FCT, it was unusual for the 3rd most powerful person in the bank to request to see a branch staff member. I was quite nervous. 🥹

Dr. Adaora is a strong advocate for women within her organization in every aspect. She’s living proof that women can achieve anything they set their minds to, serving as a trailblazer and mentor to many.
