I Was Paid To Vote!” – First-Time Voter Spills Shc*king Details From Anambra Polls
A 21-year-old first-time voter, Chinyere Aniwetalu, has confessed to receiving payment to cast her vote at Nteje Ward 1, Amuda Village Square, Polling Unit 12, during Saturday’s Anambra State governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking with journalists, Chinyere confirmed that she was financially induced to vote but refused to disclose the exact amount or the political party involved.
The young voter expressed mixed feelings—joy over finally exercising her civic right and discomfort about the circumstances surrounding her vote.
“I was paid to vote,” she admitted. “I couldn’t vote in the 2023 general election because I didn’t have my PVC then, but I’m happy I got it this year and used it today.”
By midday, voting activities at the polling unit had largely concluded, with several residents lingering as officials prepared for ballot sorting.
INEC officials on-site told reporters that voting commenced promptly at 8:00 a.m. and proceeded smoothly, although voter turnout was lower than anticipated.
Meanwhile, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), remains one of the leading contenders in the tightly contested race.
