Speaking on Channels TV, eyewitness Ogebe revealed he sat right beside Emmanson and “saw everything that transpired” on board. He alleged that one of the airline hostesses threatened to “deal with” Emmanson mid-flight.

According to Ogebe, the first air hostess was polite and professional, giving the standard emergency exit briefing before asking Emmanson to switch off her phone. The tension reportedly began when a second hostess approached “with a posture that showed she came for trouble,” repeating the same instruction.

Emmanson allegedly explained that her phone buttons were faulty and asked for assistance, which the crew member declined. Another passenger eventually helped her switch off the device. Ogebe stressed that Emmanson never refused to comply, saying, “She was trying to switch off her phone, but had issues doing so.”

The situation escalated when the second hostess allegedly warned, “If you say another word, I will deal with you,” prompting an angry and expletive-filled reaction from Emmanson. Ogebe noted that throughout the flight, Emmanson appeared upset, feeling targeted, while the second hostess “kept peeping” at her. He described the first hostess as “polite, amiable, and professional.”

“If the first air hostess had handled the situation from start to finish, none of this would have happened,” Ogebe said, adding that Emmanson’s conduct during her arrest was “extremely violent” and disproportionate.

Explaining why he came forward, Ogebe said the public narrative unfairly portrayed Emmanson as a “regular indisciplined Nigerian” defying instructions. He insisted the second hostess “needs training,” while the first “deserves an award” for professionalism.
