Solomon Emiola, a spokesman for the protesters, told DAILY POST that the national broadcast did not adequately address the needs of Nigerians. Emiola criticized the President’s response, saying, “We are protesting because the President has not met the needs of the Nigerian people. His solution, a rice palliative, is inadequate. A bag of rice now costs ninety thousand naira, and many of us cannot even afford that.”

He further highlighted the broader issues, including rising tuition fees, lack of employment, and ongoing insecurity. “With the high cost of living, we can’t afford education. Tuition fees are beyond the minimum wage. We are suffering, and our President has yet to address these critical problems,” Emiola added.
