The inauguration, conducted in the Council Chamber of the university, involved the administration of the oath of office to the committee members. Dr. Stephen Ufoaroh leads the committee, and its primary objective is to promote transparency and accountability in accordance with global best practices within the daily administrative operations of various departments, faculties, units, and directorates at the institution.

Additionally, the committee has been assigned the responsibility of raising awareness among staff members about global best practices. Prof. Charles Esimone, the vice-chancellor of the university, emphasized during the inauguration that the purpose is to ensure smooth and seamless operational services by the staff in their respective roles across directorates, units, departments, and faculties.

He highlighted the administration’s focus on administrative reforms, academic excellence, innovation, research, and community service. Committee members were chosen based on their previous administrative records and service track record. Prof. Esimone congratulated the committee members, urging them to contribute their best towards service delivery to the institution and the broader education sector.

In addition to the chairman, the committee comprises Prof. Uche Eunice Ekpunobi (Pure and Industrial Chemistry), Dr. Chinyere Esimone (Music Department), Dr. I. Onwuatuegwu (Philosophy Department), Dr. Godwin Obasikene (Medicine and Surgery Department), Prof. Machebe Victor Ozioko (Faculty of Law), Mr. Paul Ifezue (Director, Internal Audit), Dr. Jude Okoye (Faculty of Law), and Rev. Sr. Patricia Oranefo (Accountancy Department). Mr. Edward Kalu Okereke from the Personnel Unit serves as the committee’s secretary.
