Igbo Youths Deliver Strong Message To Tinubu: End Economic Sabotage From Sit-At-Home ActivismThe Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has raised serious concerns about the ongoing sit-at-home orders that are causing chaos in the region.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Recent reports indicate that parts of the South East experienced a partial economic shutdown on Monday due to directives issued by unidentified individuals. Both the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, which originally initiated the order in response to Nnamdi Kanu’s detention, have distanced themselves from the latest mandate.

In a statement released on Tuesday, COSEYL President General Goodluck Ibem emphasized the detrimental effects of these sit-at-home orders on the region’s economy, declaring, “We cannot continue like this as a people. This madness must stop.” Ibem noted that these orders typically come from “unknown persons through voice notes and videos.”

The coalition is also urging President Bola Tinubu to consider releasing IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu as a way to end this troubling situation, where individuals exploit his incarceration to cause pain, hardship, and economic stagnation in the region. “We appeal to President Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu from DSS custody to halt all forms of economic sabotage that harm the nation’s growth and development,” the statement concluded.
