“I’m Not Eyeing The VP Seat!” – Gov Radda Breaks Silence On 2027

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has disassociated himself from claims suggesting he is nursing a vice-presidential ambition for the 2027 elections.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has firmly denied any involvement in speculations linking him to a potential 2027 vice-presidential bid, reaffirming that his focus remains on serving the people of the state.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor addressed the rumours during an event hosted by the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum on Tuesday in Dutsin-Ma.

Reacting to the speculations, Governor Radda stated:

“I’ve seen posters and messages implying I’m seeking another office. Let me be clear—my sole mission is to serve as Governor of Katsina State. That is the mandate you gave me, and that is where my loyalty lies.
I am not involved in any campaign for another position. My duty is to honour the trust you’ve placed in me.”

It’s worth noting that both the Katsina State House of Assembly and federal lawmakers from the state — including senators and House of Representatives members — have already endorsed Radda for a second term.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to peace and security, Radda said:

“Security is our highest priority. We are working relentlessly to restore lasting peace across Katsina. We will never make promises we can’t fulfill, and our actions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.”

At the event, Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, lauded the governor’s humility and dedication, noting that their endorsement was based on performance.

“Your presence here today is powerful. You chose to be here in person, and that speaks volumes about your leadership.”

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Hon. Kabir Abdussalam Shema, praised Radda’s leadership qualities, saying:

“We wholeheartedly endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We support continuity because the progress under your leadership is visible and impactful.”

In response to the endorsements, Governor Radda expressed gratitude and humility, saying:

“If it is Allah’s will and beneficial to the people, then it shall be. But if not, I pray that Allah guides us to something even better.”
