The former Imo East Senator described Ohakim’s actions as a desperate attempt to remain politically relevant in the toxic Imo political landscape.

In a recent newspaper interview, Ohakim accused Anyanwu of writing a lengthy apology letter to Abacha and the federal government, admitting to telling lies to promote her magazine. He threatened to release the letter to the public.

Responding to these claims, Mrs. Anyanwu denied ever writing an apology to General Abacha.

“I don’t know anyone who wrote to Abacha. I only speak about matters I am certain of. The idea of writing such a letter is beyond my comprehension. It couldn’t have been conceived, let alone written by me, even under duress,” she stated.

Anyanwu further challenged Ohakim to bring the letter to court for forensic examination.

“He should produce the letter for verification by forensic experts in the presence of the world. This is a global issue, not just a local one, and many people are aware of the truth. Making such claims only diminishes his credibility,” she said.

She also accused Ohakim of fabricating the apology letter as a figment of his imagination and emphasized that her autobiography, Bold Leap, focuses on her life experiences without any such correspondence.

Anyanwu urged him to refrain from spreading false narratives and to address his claims within the bounds of the law.
