Earlier reports by Naija News indicated that a small group of military personnel claimed to have ousted President Patrice Talon on Sunday. Soldiers identifying themselves as the “Military Committee for Refoundation” (CMR) appeared on state television, declaring that “Mr Patrice Talon is removed from office as president of the republic.” Talon is scheduled to leave office in April next year, completing 10 years in power.
