Independence Anniversary: Akpabio Assures Nigerians Of Hopeful Days Ahead

Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, has expressed optimism that Nigeria’s brightest days lie ahead. Speaking on Sunday at the Inter-denominational Church Service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, which marked Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, Akpabio acknowledged the numerous challenges facing the nation across various sectors. He stated, “While the road ahead to achieving the Nigeria of our dreams may be bumpy and filled with setbacks, united by faith and love, we will prevail.”

Akpabio encouraged Nigerians to recognize the difficulties they face while remaining hopeful for the future. “As we celebrate today, let us also acknowledge the challenges we encounter. Yes, there will be setbacks, but together, united in our faith and love for Nigeria, we will prevail. Our journey towards becoming a prosperous nation is just beginning. I urge everyone to be patient, hold onto hope, and believe that change is not only possible but inevitable. Nigeria’s brightest days are ahead of us. Together, with unwavering belief, we will build a nation that our children and future generations will be proud of.”

The former governor of Akwa Ibom State praised the resilience and indomitable spirit of Nigerians. He highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, which aims to rejuvenate the economy and uplift the citizens.

“Undoubtedly, the Nigerian nation is characterized by resilience. From our earliest struggles for independence to the challenges of modern governance, we have consistently demonstrated our unyielding spirit. When faced with adversity, we rise; when confronted with challenges, we unite. Today, I thank God for the Nigerian spirit that has guided us through turbulent times, across our Red Seas and Jordan Rivers, over hills and mountains, and through every valley we have encountered.”

As the nation commemorates its independence, Akpabio urged everyone to celebrate the achievements that have brought Nigeria this far. “Every milestone we have crossed is a testament to our collective will, strength, and determination as Nigerians. Our country is undergoing a renewed hope project designed to rejuvenate our economy, empower our people, and support the most vulnerable among us,” he added.
