INEC In Hot Seat! Datti Baba-Ahmed Fingers Yakubu For Constitutional Violations
Former Labour Party (LP) vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has accused the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, of violating the constitution during the 2023 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Baba-Ahmed maintained that the presidential poll was manipulated and insisted that only a credible individual should lead the electoral body ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said:
“All I want is a credible person, not someone who blatantly ignores what the constitution clearly states — 25 per cent in at least two-thirds of the states including the FCT — and still goes ahead to breach it, putting Nigeria in the situation it is today.
“If you recall, I warned that individuals can make or break nations. This man will be held responsible for what has happened. It is wrong.
“Another arm of government went ahead to uphold his actions. As little as I am, and by the service of God Almighty, I say it is wrong.
“The court has the power to say you are wrong even when you are not, but we were not wrong. That election was rigged. Up till now, the results are still inconsistent with the Nigerian Constitution.”
