INEC Set To Issue Certificates Of Return To Ondo Governor-Elect Aiyedatiwa And Deputy On WednesdayThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will officially present certificates of return to Ondo State Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Olayide Adelami, on Wednesday. “The certificates of return will be presented by the commission to the governor-elect and his deputy on Wednesday,” Oyekanmi said.
Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in the governorship election, securing 366,781 votes. He defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, who garnered 117,845 votes. Aiyedatiwa’s triumph was marked by a sweeping win across all 18 local government areas of Ondo State, reinforcing the APC’s stronghold in the region.
The presentation of certificates of return is a formal step that marks the completion of the electoral process and officially affirms the mandate given to the elected officials.
Aiyedatiwa is set to begin his tenure with significant expectations, as he faces critical development challenges in the state. His victory has garnered praise from various quarters, including from former President Muhammadu Buhari and other notable Nigerians.
