Following a tragic incident at Kugbo Mechanic in Abuja on Thursday, an unnamed military personnel allegedly stabbed an automobile electrician to death. The FCT Police have subsequently arrested the suspect, as confirmed by SP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command.

She stated, “On 20th June 2024 at about 4 pm, a tragic incident occurred involving a mechanic and four others who are currently at large, including Tijani Uzairu, who brought a vehicle for repairs. Preliminary investigation indicates that an argument broke out, leading to the stabbing of Chukwu Chukwudi in the neck with a dagger by one of the suspects.”

Upon receiving the complaint, police operatives from Karu Division swiftly responded to the scene, resulting in the arrest of Tijani Uzairu, who was present with the other suspects. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

“The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident,” Adeh added, emphasizing that calm has been restored in the area. She further urged the public to refrain from violence, cautioning that its consequences are severe and regrettable.
