In a statement released on Saturday, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, expressed concern that the Nigerian Army harbors no goodwill towards Ndigbo. He emphasized that joining such an institution could have deadly consequences for Igbo youth.

“IPOB is against Biafrans, particularly Ndigbo, joining the Nigerian Army because it holds no good intentions towards Ndigbo. It will be deadly to join an institution whose core objective includes causing harm to Ndigbo.”

Powerful further warned that any Igbo youth who joins the army out of desperation for employment will be solely responsible for the consequences. He urged them to avoid the recruitment or face the potential dangers, stating, “Any Biafran youth who disregards this advice does so at their own peril.
