In a press statement titled “IPoB Rejects Establishment of Cattle Ranch for Fulani Herdsmen,” the group accused Governor Mbah of planning to sell community lands to Fulani bandits, referencing a previous warning issued in November 2023. The statement highlighted the collaboration between the Enugu State government and certain community leaders in allocating lands to alleged terrorist Fulanis.

IPoB emphasized its commitment to resist any attempt to establish a cattle ranch for what they referred to as “killer herdsmen,” and specifically mentioned the readiness of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives. The group insisted that if Governor Mbah intends to pursue a cattle ranch, it should be managed privately by an Igbo businessman to prevent the infiltration of murderous Fulani herdsmen.

The statement also urged Governor Mbah to learn from past incidents, referring to the events at Eha Amufu and Nimbo in Uzouwani two years ago, and emphasized that IPoB will not tolerate the presence of Fulani jihadist herdsmen in the South East. The group warned of potential intervention by ESN in Nimbo community in Uzowani if the establishment of a Fulani cattle ranch proceeds.

In conclusion, IPoB delivered a stern message to Governor Peter Mbah, asserting that abandoning the idea of a Fulani cattle ranch is crucial for maintaining peace and stability in Enugu State. The group emphasized its vigilance and determination to protect the interests of the Igbo people, urging any financial transactions between Fulani herdsmen and Enugu leaders to be reconsidered.
