Despite the disappointment, both returned the following year to audition. Liquorose admitted she almost skipped the 2021 audition due to her previous experience, but a friend encouraged her to give it another shot.

She went ahead with the process and later discovered she had been selected. Her perseverance paid off when she competed in Big Brother Naija Season 5 in 2021, finishing as the runner-up, narrowly losing the grand prize to Whitemoney.

Reflecting on the experience, she said, “In 2020, I was backstage at the BBNaija opening show. I was dressed up, makeup done, but I was not called. That really hurt me. That experience stayed with me, so the following year, I didn’t even want to audition, but my friend convinced me to try. I just auditioned and forgot about it. One day, I checked my spam and discovered I had been selected. It was crazy.”
