In an announcement signed by the State chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, and disclosed that a 56-year-old man, Saleh Idris, had been apprehended on charges of allegedly raping his housegirl.
The statement detailed, “In light of the rape and impregnation accusations involving a minor and the initial findings from the state chapter’s investigation, the party has made the following resolutions:
“Your actions are in violation of section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended, and further investigations are warranted.”
Consequently, the State APC has temporarily suspended the local party chairman pending the results of the investigation. The chairman has been directed to transfer his responsibilities to the local government’s vice chairman.
