Mrs. Ugochi Nwosu, the Director of Entertainment and Creative Services, made this announcement as part of the 2023 World Culture Day, which centered on the theme “Embracing Cultural Diversity: Building Bridges for a Harmonious World.”
The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development not only commemorates the cultural richness worldwide but also underscores the vital role of intercultural dialogue in fostering peace and sustainable development.
Nwosu stated that the ministry observed the 2023 World Culture Day to raise awareness about the significance of culture in national development. Additionally, they aimed to spotlight the potential of Nigerian culture and the creative economy in nation-building.
She remarked, “Today, we are presenting some aspects of our culture, creative economy, and economic diversification. This sector has the capacity to boost our economy, generate jobs for our growing population.”
The event brought together youths and a diverse group of participants to celebrate and display the nation’s cultural richness, highlighting that the manifestation of cultural diversity is a pillar of Nigeria’s strength.
