JUST IN: Exercise Caution, Warns DSS To Nigerians As Yuletide Approaches

In a statement released on Friday, Dr. Afunanya urged citizens to maintain law and order, emphasizing the need for a peaceful atmosphere during and after the celebrations. The DSS further advised operators and patrons of recreational parks, worship centers, supermarkets, and other public spaces to be vigilant and implement necessary measures to safeguard their facilities and visitors.

The statement highlighted the DSS’s recommendation for citizens to stay security-conscious and remain attentive to their surroundings. It urged the public to report suspicious persons, movements, packages, and objects to relevant security agencies. Additionally, citizens were encouraged to refrain from engaging in acts of violence, spreading fake news, or promoting divisive tendencies, emphasizing the importance of public order and national security.

Emphasizing the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence, the DSS called on the public to use the festive season as an opportunity to promote harmony. Dr. Afunanya assured the public that the DSS would continue to collaborate with other security and law enforcement agencies, as well as all stakeholders, to ensure adequate security measures are in place before, during, and after the holiday period.
