The statement highlighted that the suspects were apprehended in the act of committing traffic robbery around 7:30 pm on Sunday. The quick response of RRS bike riders, prompted by a victim’s alert, played a crucial role in the successful operation. The suspects were identified as Wasiu Olawale (23), Adebayo Olatunbosun (20), Wale John (28), and Uche Ugwu (25), the alleged gang leader and an ex-convict released in May 2023.
Following a thorough investigation and diligent tracking by the police, three of the suspects were arrested, and the authorities successfully recovered three android phones and an ATM card. Five victims have already reported to the RRS headquarters, positively identifying the apprehended individuals. The suspects are actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and once completed, they will face charges in court.
