A statement released by Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, conveyed the uplifting news to the public.

Dr. Betta Edu, Nigeria’s Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty, announced the release of funds on Wednesday night, expressing that it brings renewed hope for Nigerian youths just in time for the Christmas and New Year festivities. The Minister emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian youths, citing various policies and programs tailored to provide opportunities for them.

Dr. Edu shared her dedication to ensuring the timely disbursement of funds, stating, “I stayed awake with the N-Power team till 3 am at the office to ensure NPower beneficiaries get paid before Christmas in line with the directive of the President. Now, I can confirm to you the payment of NPower beneficiaries has commenced, and the evidence is in their bank accounts.”

She extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to the beneficiaries who had patiently awaited their stipends due to the thorough verification process.

Aminu Muhammed from Kano expressed gratitude in a message to the Minister, saying, “Thank you, Mr. President and the Honourable Minister for fulfilling your promise. I just received my alert.” Similar messages of confirmation came from beneficiaries such as Sanni Baba in Bauchi, Uche Nnaji from Enugu, Kayode Babatunde in Ibadan, and Kolo Nda from Niger state, among approximately 400,000 beneficiaries who successfully underwent the verification process and received their payments.
