The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Command, reported on Tuesday that a fatal accident on the Ikirun-Ilaodo highway resulted in the loss of nine lives. The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on Monday near the premises of Courage Petroleum Company in Inisa….CONTINUE READING
According to Mr. Henry Benamaisia, the Sector Commander, the accident involved a Mitsubishi Canter Orange vehicle with registration number MNA 606 XB. The vehicle, loaded with goods from Makera in Niger State, was reportedly driven in a dangerous manner, leading to a loss of control and the tragic deaths of nine individuals.
Out of the 15 persons involved in the accident, five sustained injuries, and one escaped unhurt. The deceased victims have been evacuated to Orotunde Hospital mortuary, while the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Benamaisia emphasized the need for road users to avoid excessive speeding and adhere to road safety regulations. He commended the collaborative efforts of other sister agencies in restoring normalcy to the affected route.
